ACCEA Applications for 2016 now open!

ENT UK has been informed that ACCEA applications are now open. The window for submission is very small this year. The closing date for submissions to ENT UK is midnight Monday 28th March 2016. LATE SUBMISSIONS CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

How to be nominated for an Award

Any Consultant who is in a position for advancement of an award or to receive a new award, and who wishes to be considered for ENT UK’s support in this year's award round, must send the following:

The appropriately completed ACCEA application forms (available via the ACCEA website).
A short paragraph outlining the duties you currently undertake on behalf of ENT UK and your contributions to surgery both locally and nationally.

Experience over the years has demonstrated that it is unlikely that a Consultant will be considered for advancement of an award within 4-5 years of their most recent award. Repeated submissions do not appear to increase the prospects of success. Submissions are considered on their own merit each year.
 
If you applied last year it will not be too difficult to update your application but it must be made clear what you have achieved since your last award/discretionary points.  All applications will be scored by the ENT UK ACCEA Panel according to the ACCEA domains.

These domains are:

• Delivering a high quality service
• Developing a high quality service
• Managing a high quality service
• Research and innovation
• Teaching and training
   

ENT UK Timeline

March

• All applications to be received by ENT UK on 28th March
• Applications sent to ENT UK ACCEA Panel to be scored using the ACCEA’s 5 domains

April

• All application scores collated by ENT UK prior to the ENT UK ACCEA Panel Meeting
• The ENT UK ACCEA Panel meet to discuss application ranking
• Citations allocated to support applications
• Ranking sent to the Royal College Of Surgeons of England
• Deadline for applicants to upload submissions – 20th APRIL
