About

The British Rhinological Society was created to promote education and research in all aspects of Rhinology - the study of the nose, sinuses and related areas including facial plastics. The Society provides a platform for those with an interest in Rhinology to help disseminate knowledge on the subject. The BRS provides a national umbrella to promote and support good clinical practice and advancements in the field of Rhinology. It holds an annual meeting to facilitate engagement, and provide education and professional development for its members.


The Event

The ENT UK BRS Juniors Day and Annual Meeting will be held face-to-face at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DW

This event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 22nd, and Friday, May 23rd, 2025. 

The event will be divided as follows:

  • 22nd May, 08:55 hrs - 12:30 hrs - BRS Juniors Day Meeting 
  • 22nd May, 13:30 hrs - 17:35 hrs - BRS Annual Meeting (first part)
  • 23rd May, 09.00 hrs  - 13.00 hrs - BRS Annual Meeting (second part) followed by lunch.
  • Registration starts at 08:00 hrs on both the days (please check programme)

Keynote Speakers: This year's meeting will be an excellent opportunity to listen to eminent national and international speakers such as:

  • Prof. Darlene Lubbe (Cape Town, South Africa)

Registrations 

The BRS Juniors Day and Annual Meeting registrations for the face-to-face meeting are now closed with the meeting being full to the capacity.

The delegate ticket includes the tea/coffee/refreshments/lunch on the 22nd May and 23rd May 2025.

With this ticket, you will have access to the following:

  • 22nd May, 08:55 hrs - 12:30 hrs - BRS Juniors Day Meeting (for Juniors and Trainees)

  • 22nd May, 13:30 hrs - 17:35 hrs - BRS Annual Meeting (first part) (All Grades)

  • 23rd May, 08.30 hrs - 13.00 hrs - BRS Annual Meeting (second part) (All Grades) followed by lunch.
  • Registration starts at 08:00 hrs on both the days (please check programme)

The Juniors Day Meeting is primarily intended for students and trainees, but delegates of other grades are welcome to attend as well. However, please keep in mind that the CPD points allocated for this part of the event will be granted only to students and trainees.

Deadline 14th May 2025. On-site registrations will not be accepted.

Networking Evening - Dinner & Ceilidh

Delegates and faculty are invited to join us for a fantastic dinner and ceilidh on Thursday 22nd May 2025 evening, promising a delightful evening of networking and entertainment. Please check programme for the timings and location within the premises of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DW.

Networking Evening Dinner ticket (includes Ceilidh) must be bought together with the event ticket. The dinner ticket cannot be bought later as a stand alone ticket therefore please ensure to tick the dinner ticket add-on before you finalise your event ticket. 

There is a cap to the maximum numbers that can be accommodated for Networking evening, therefore we will not be able to accept any stand alone dinner requests to be added later, once we reach full capacity.

Dragon's Den Research Grant

The BRS can offer members funding towards research projects by way of a pump-priming grant. Grants are available on an annual basis and will be up to the value of £3000. As the BRS is a recognised partner of the NIHR, the successful research project will be automatically considered for inclusion on the NIHR National Portfolio when the ethics and R&D submission process is initiated.

Application forms will be considered by the BRS research group headed by Mr Neil Tan and the top 3 shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their research proposal in May 2025 at the BRS meeting in Edinburgh. 

Deadline for applications was midday Friday 7th March 2025 that is closed now. Late submissions will not be accepted. Further details are within the submission form

On Foot
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is located on Nicolson Street which is approximately a 10 minute walk from Waverley train station. 

By Bus
There are several buses that pass The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Buses 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, 37 and 49 all pass through the city centre and stop near the college. For information on ticket options and timetables and further journey planning visit the Lothian website. 

By Train
The nearest station is Waverley which is just a short walk from the museum. For help with journey planning visit the Trainline's website.

By Car

Due to its city centre location, the college does not have its own car park.
There is on-street parking available, more information about where this can be found and the costs can be found on Edinburgh Council's website
