Call for candidates: British Rhinological Society (BRS) - President-Elect, Treasurer-Elect and Council members

We are delighted to invite nominations for President-Elect and Treasurer-elect of the British Rhinological Society, to take up post from 20 May 2024. Two national representatives (one from England, one from Wales) nominations are also welcomed, both of which will commence in January 2025.
The President-Elect serves a one-year term before graduating to the Presidency for a further two years. This is an exciting position of national importance, and the incumbent will have a crucial role in shaping the future of rhinology practice in the UK.
The criteria for BRS President-Elect include:
• UK based
• a substantive NHS position (full or part-time)
• a minimum 5 years’ experience
• a speciality interest in rhinology
The Treasurer-Elect will serve a one-year term along-side the incumbent before taking full responsibility for another two years. The post holder plays an important role in the Society by providing oversight to all financial transactions.
Council Members
There are 8 national representatives; six from England, one from Wales and one from Scotland/ Northern Ireland. Council members will serve for 3 years in the first instance and also have other roles to fulfil within the Society.
We welcome and encourage a diverse range of applicants that truly represent our sub-specialty area. Election will be by online vote of the active BRS membership in the case of more than one interested party. Candidates should outline their experience and demonstrate their suitability for election by submitting a 300 word statement to the BRS Secretary by Wednesday 10 April (11.59pm) c/o Katie Nurcombe, ENT UK CEO: katie@entuk.org. In the title of the email, please also specify the role you are applying for.
Nominees and their supporting voters must have been members of the BRS for at least 12 months at the time of elections, as per the Constitution. Please familiarise yourself with the Constitution and Code of Conduct, both of which can be found on the BRS website.
