ENT UK responds to tonsillectomy claims in research paper

ENT UK has written to the British Journal of General Practice following their publication of the research paper ‘Incidence of indications for tonsillectomy and frequency of evidence-based surgery: a 12-year retrospective cohort study of primary care electronic records’. In their response, the ENT UK signatories have identified and outlined a number of flaws in the central argument of the paper, which claims that most tonsillectomies performed on children in the UK may be unnecessary, or even harmful.
