HPV Action Update

ENT UK is a member of the HPV Action collaborative partnership of 43 patient and professional organisations that advocates HPV vaccination for both boys and girls.

ENT UK’s last update to members on HPV Action activity was in March 2016.  Below is a summary of the events that have taken place since then.

The All Party Group on Cancer is holding an enquiry into the progress made on the England Cancer Strategy.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology has issued an important statement on HPV vaccination for cancer prevention. This calls for gender-neutral vaccination globally.

HPVA has recruited 13 leading experts in the HPV field to co-sign a letter to Jeremy Hunt about the need to make a decision this year to vaccinate boys. We are currently considering the best time to send this and how to generate media coverage. ENT UK will update members with more information in due course.

Finally, the next HPV Action members meeting is scheduled to take place in London on 20th July 2016. There will also be a smaller members’ meeting covering public engagement in London on 31st May 2016.
