About the Webinar - Women in Surgery and Instruments

WENTS (Women in ENT Surgery) are delighted to invite you to the second part of their webinar series on 'Women and Technology in Surgery'.

With the recent RCS England data showing we are 60 years off achieving 50:50 gender ratios in surgical consultants, we believe peer-reviewed data and collaboration is more important than ever for women in surgery.

This webinar will focus on women in surgery and instruments and will take place at 7:30pm (UK time) on Tuesday 27th January 2026.

We welcome all genders to this event and it is free to attend, although advance registration is required.

Programme

Time: 7:30 - 8:30pm UK time

Hear from Dr Emily Yassaie who will be discussing her research on androcentric bias in surgical instruments. 89% of women surgeons report difficulties with surgical equipment due to size - How can we improve equity in this area of surgery?

Speakers:

  • Dr Emily Yassaie - Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon in New Zealand
