Letter to minister urges rethink

letter signed by sixteen leading experts – including Professor Nirmal Kumar, the President Elect of ENT UK – has been sent to public health minister Steve Brine MP on behalf of HPV Action.

The letter urges Mr Brine to reverse the decision not to introduce the HPV catch-up programme for boys aged up to 18 when it initiates the vaccination programme for 12-13-year-old boys in September 2019. The sixteen signatories also request that rather than state an intention to commence the vaccination programme in 2019, the minister commit firmly to a starting date.

HPV Action has published an official press release explaining its position, and the letter has received coverage in the Mail On Sunday.
