Marie Lyons
Marie is an ENT Surgeon and Divisional Medical Director at East and North Herts Trust. She trained in Cambridge and sis her clinical training in London and Canada. She has held leadership positions for nearly a decade. She sees her leadership job as supporting her teams to do their jobs brilliantly. She has completed both the Surgical Leadership Course with Harvard University and the Accelerated Directors Development Course in the East of England. She has formalised and streamlined leadership recruitment at her Trust and with the Medical Directors Office has led development of the Clinical Directors in her own and other Divisions.
Alex Ashman
Dr Alex Ashman is an ENT Specialty Registrar in the Thames Valley Deanery, and one of the RCSE Emerging Leaders 2023 cohort. Alex was AOT ENT Treasurer 2019-21 and sits on the committees of the RCSE Pride in Surgery Forum and Women in ENT Surgery (WENTS UK), as well as being an invited member of the BMA EDI Advisory Group. Alex lives in the South of England with their wife and children, and currently works Less Than Full Time. Their interests include allotment gardening, science fiction, cross stitching, and intersectional feminism.
